Summary of Experience
Mr. Beck offers over 30 years of experience in the energy industry, principally commercial affairs in energy marketing and infrastructure management.
Previously, Robert spent 14 years with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, and was a Vice President of Anadarko Energy Services Company. He was also Business Development Director for Anadarko’s International Exploration Department. Robert has Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) experience on six continents. Prior to Anadarko, Robert was a consultant for Lukens Energy Group in Houston in the oil and gas, power, and utility sectors. Before Lukens, he worked for Unocal on power project development in Asia. Prior to Unocal, Robert worked for AES Corporation in power project development. He began his career at ExxonMobil’s Baytown, Texas, refinery as process engineer for light ends fractionation and the alkylation unit.
As a consultant, Robert has provided expert opinions related to commercial disputes in natural gas production, gathering, processing, transportation, storage, and marketing (including using North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) contracts), as well as natural gas liquids transportation, fractionation, and marketing. He has also been engaged by investors and operators to conduct technical and commercial due diligence on the acquisition of assets in these sectors.
Robert is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a member of the Association of International Energy Negotiators. He is also a representative of Baker & O’Brien at both the GPA Midstream Association and the GPA Midstream Houston chapter.
