Summary of Experience

With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Cheek is a subject matter expert in economic and financial analysis, advising clients in a broad range of industries, such as oil and gas production, midstream, petroleum refining, and chemicals on topics that include asset valuations, cost of capital calculations, business interruption, economic feasibility, purchase price allocations, and due diligence. He has prepared and authored expert valuation reports of oil and gas production, midstream, petroleum refining, renewable energy, and mining assets for companies, financial institutions, and government agencies in both advisory and litigation matters. William is a recognized expert in the areas of the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) and discount rates in the energy industry. Mr. Cheek has provided expert witness testimony regarding the cost of capital, valuation methodologies, the appropriateness of discount rates, debt-to-equity ratios, and interest rates.

Prior to joining Baker & O’Brien, William was at Parks Associates where he conducted primary consumer survey research, authored syndicated primary research reports, conducted company briefings, provided consulting services for Fortune 500 companies, and presented at industry seminars and conferences.

While at the Perryman Group, he created economic damage models, impact assessments, and forecast models, including liquidated damage models for antitrust litigation. In addition, William was a contributor to The Perryman Report, which provided economic analysis of topics relating to the economies of the United States and Texas.
