Charles Kemp has over 35 years of leadership experience in the oil and gas industry, spanning oil and gas production, petroleum refining, renewable fuels, chemicals and petrochemicals, and midstream sectors. His expertise extends to economics, strategic planning, operations, human resources, and engineering. Charles is a recognized expert in industrial asset valuation, oil and gas industry economics, and operational and safety standards.
Prior to joining Baker & O’Brien, Charles held leadership positions at three of the largest U.S. energy corporations. He gained hands-on experience in the areas of strategic planning, economic modeling, marketing, business development, supply-chain management, logistics management, fuel specifications, turnaround planning, refinery linear programming, competitive analysis, and cost reduction.
Since joining Baker & O’Brien, Charles’ consulting assignments have included project feasibility studies, refined product supply and demand studies, technical and economic due diligence, mergers & acquisitions support, shale oil refining/logistics, and purchase price allocations. He has conducted asset valuation assignments involving renewable fuel production, petroleum refining, oil and gas production, and mining operations. Charles has provided expert testimony in international arbitrations, district, and federal courts regarding the valuation of assets, supply disputes, plant operations, natural gas production, business interruption, safety, and environmental issues. His work extends to advising legal teams on costs and damages resulting from business interruption claims involving oil and gas and related assets. He also has experience in fire investigation, pipeline operations, hydrocarbon measurement, prudent operations, and safety procedures.
