Darren T. Murphy

Mr. Murphy is a seasoned engineering manager with over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas, power, and infrastructure sectors. After starting his career as an electrical engineer, Darren progressed into engineering management and project management. He has extensive experience across all phases of the project cycle from early project development and front-end engineering design (FEED) through detailed design and procurement to fabrication and construction and commissioning.

Having worked for leading engineering contractors, a major international oil company, and suppliers, Darren’s global project portfolio comprises multiple megaprojects across a variety of sectors, including onshore and offshore oil and gas field developments, LNG, energy-from-waste, power, and rail. His international project experience covers Europe, the Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia, and Australia.

Darren’s project management experience includes responsibility for project and engineering resources, including up to 90 engineering professionals and 200 technicians and craftsmen. Beyond his extensive EPC project and engineering management experience, Darren has deep specialist expertise in electrical, instrumentation, and controls system design and implementation across various sectors; fixed and floating offshore production platforms, including subsea equipment design and power generation systems.

Darren has been a chartered member of the Institute of Engineers Australia since 2002.
