Summary of Experience

Ed has over 35 years of experience in downstream energy, specializing in refinery modeling and analysis. He leads projects and advises clients in many areas, including strategy and short-term planning, market analysis, crude oil economics, project development, mergers and acquisitions, competitive analysis and benchmarking, and regulatory compliance impacts.

Prior to joining Baker & O’Brien, Ed was Executive Director in the IHS Markit’s (recently acquired by S&P Global) downstream consulting group. Ed was a Senior Principal at Purvin & Gertz before its acquisition by IHS in 2011. Ed began his career with ARCO/Lyondell, where he had progressive process engineering roles at the Houston refinery and later worked in economics and planning at the Houston refinery and the Channelview, Texas, ethylene complex.
