Summary of Experience

Mr. Clark offers 11 years of industry experience specializing in downstream operations. Stephen began his career at CITGO Petroleum Corporation (CITGO) in 2013, bringing knowledge and expertise from process unit engineering and technical support to overall refining economic analysis and optimization roles.

After a six-month Design and Strategic Planning Engineer onboarding assignment, Stephen spent the next five years as an Operations Process Engineer for CITGO. In this role, he performed technical service functions to support process unit operations, including modeling unit operations, enhancing efficiency, and developing operational procedures to improve unit performance. In addition, Stephen coordinated turnaround planning and associated shutdown activities, as well as Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews and related follow-up actions.

In 2018, Stephen transitioned to an Economic Analyst role with the Refinery Economics and Planning Group, performing refinery economics and planning functions for supply improvements in crude and feedstock purchases and product sales. In 2019, he joined the CITGO Corporate team as a Refinery Optimizer for their U.S. Gulf Coast and Midwest Refineries, focusing on coordination, supply optimization, and economic decisions.
