Summary of Experience
Mr. Rooney has 20 years of international experience in engineering, project management, corporate development, and commercial operations. He has a broad range of experience in both the energy and resource industries, including strategic and financial analysis, economic modeling, due diligence, negotiations, and joint venture management.
Tim started his career as an engineering consultant with WorleyParsons, where he gained engineering and project management experience on pipeline and facility projects in Australia, Bangladesh, Houston, and Bolivia. After completing his MBA at INSEAD in 2004, Tim joined the strategy and development team of a global materials company. Immediately prior to joining Baker & O'Brien, Tim worked for Origin Energy managing a number of joint venture natural gas fields as part of a world-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Brisbane, Australia.
Tim's broad background provides insights for engineering and construction, LNG and midstream operations, as well as commercial and technical evaluation of joint venture agreements and project finance related matters. Since becoming a consultant in 2012, Tim has advised clients on a wide range of issues, including EPC contract disputes, insurance claims, pipeline and terminal due diligence, pipeline maintenance, LNG due diligence, asset valuations, and market studies. Tim is proficient in Spanish.
